We finally got the inside of the barn lined and we're ready to put in stalls! Yesterday was a big day for the boys It was their first time in the barn (yeah, we're mean like that  ). We hung up a couple of hay feeders temporary and let them come in for a bit until the farrier arrived...




This was right up Bo and Toni's alley






The BF even let them come into "his" area of the barn to get their feet done in front of the fire





The "farrier" is just actually a good friend of ours that used to do horses but has since pretty much quit...but we wanted to keep him in shape  He handmade these fireplace tools for us for the barn




I tried to snap a couple of pics when we let them back outside...but my camera does not like snow and took some of the crappiest pictures I ever saw  So here are a couple that weren't a total loss







And I didn't want to forget to include a picture of Mr. Cock! He doesn't venture outside to much in the winter

He won't fan his butt until breeding season  His feathers are just starting to grow again....by the time he's done they'll be a good 3' longer

Awww how sweet of Tim to let the ponies come into his side. But I did see in the top picture that he put down a rug for them to wipe off their hooves before entering.

They lose them all in the fall and re grow them every year. Didn't you notice that big pretty bunch of peacock feathers on the landing going upstairs  

Actually that bunch of feathers looks so good because I went out to feed after dark one night, stepped on his tail, of course it scared him and he bailed...but he left me ALL of his tail in one neat pretty bunch

And do you know how lucky you are?!  Your farrier is making you fireplace tools, and I can't even get mine to make me a ring out of a horseshoe nail.

We didn't even ask for the fireplace tools  They were a gift  He gave them to us a few weeks ago and this is the first time he's done our horses...I joked with him and said this was a hell of a "Thank You" for the tools
